When I received the phone call from Amanda, my heart melted.
She and her brother Jeremy wanted to surprise their parents with a vow renewal, at the beach, because her mom Fratima, "Loves Morro Bay.
Since my parents were divorced, and my own mom died when I was young, I'm always envious? of people whose parents are still alive, and when the children plan this sort of event for their parents, I am humbled. To me, it shows the way their parents raised them; to honor traditions, to celebrate accomplishments, and most of of all, to honor thy parents!
This whole day, for me, was a very emotional day. To share the closeness of this family, and to see the love, (from the ceremony at the beach, to the heart-felt speeches, made to each other at dinner) makes me love my job even more...*big lump in my throat*....
The beach goers started the party by boarding the Central Coast Trolley, and riding from The Embarcadero, down to San Jacinto beach, where the vow renewal took place. They then came back to the waterfront to a scrum-dili-icous meal providing by the award winning "Windows on the Water" restaurant.
The amount of detail that Amanda put into the planning made my job easy! From the colors of the flowers, (from Harbor Floral), to the flavors of the cake (The Cakery), and the menu planning from Windows on the Water, this was a beautiful, awe-inspiring event to be a part of!
